DB Metallic polyester powder coating in facade quality

Our polyester powder coatings according to the RAL color system are produced in Europe according to the highest standards and provide a perfect surface result in flow and color. In addition, the paints are specially produced for exterior use in facade quality. Our metallic powder coatings are produced using the bonding process and thus offer the highest metallic effect quality.
The DB paints are paints that were used in the area of the Deutsche Bahn. Due to the high proportion of micaceous iron ore, the colors deviate from the RAL color shades, creating a grayed but glittery appearance.
Please note that DB colors from different manufacturers result in differences in gloss and color. Therefore, prior color checks to avoid color tone deviations are recommended.
Application
When processing metallic powder coatings, the electrostatic (corona) process is recommended. Metallic powder coatings must be tested for their suitability for tribo application.

Pretreatment
Grease, oil, scale and oxidation products must be removed from the surface before coating.
In case of special requirements, further types of pretreatment are needed. Please refer to the technical data sheets.
Recommendation for exterior use
If the parts to be coated are intended for outdoor use, we recommend coating the grease- and solvent-free surface first with our primer powder. After stoving, the desired RAL color is applied. This so-called 2-layer process particularly increases the corrosion resistance of your workpieces for outdoor use.
Recommended stoving time
At 180 °C object temperature 15 - 20 min

At 60 μm film thickness 9 - 13 m²/kg
Optimum film thickness
- with a 1-layer coating 60 - 100 µm
- with a 2-layer coating 120 - 160 µm
